A hometown ideally located on Interstate 87 in the southern half of Saratoga County, New York, 10 miles south of historic Saratoga Springs and 20 miles north of the state’s capital Albany. Flanked by the Adirondack’s, Green Mountains, and the Hudson River, Malta is also midway between Boston, Montreal, Buffalo and New York City.

 

 

Anchored by the regional headquarters of State Farm Insurance Company, the home office of Stewart’s Ice Cream Company, the multi-use Malta Commons Business Park, NYSERDA’s Saratoga Technology + Energy Park® (STEP)®, one of the world’s largest and most advanced chip fabrication plants Global Foundries under construction, Hudson Valley Community College's TEC Smart Campus featuring nano-technology, as well as many more new and exciting projects under construction and in the planning stages.

 

 

Inhabited by 13,000 citizens enjoying the quality of life a small town has to offer, such as quiet neighborhoods, highly acclaimed school systems, multiple large recreational parks, elaborate multi-use trail systems, a very active Community Center with widely varied activities for all ages, and a new library branch. Malta is also home to one of the longest running Drive-in Movie Theaters.

 

 

Saratoga County carries the lowest property tax rate per capita of any county in the State. Malta has not had a General Town Tax for the last 20 years. The town efficiently operates on a pay-as-you-go basis with no long term debt.
