Traffic Pattern Change – Partial Closure of Round Lake Road and Changes to Ruhle Road Access
Starting Friday September 18th at 8:00 PM and ending Friday October 2nd at 8:00 PM, the following traffic restrictions will be in place:
• The eastbound lane of Round Lake Road will close between the Rite-Aid and the Stewart’s Shop driveways on Round Lake Road. The westbound lane of Round Lake Road will remain open to traffic.
• Only right turns will be permitted at the intersection Ruhle Road/Round Lake Road intersection. All southbound Ruhle Road Traffic will be required to turn right (west) at the intersection.
• Raylinsky Road will remain closed during this phase of work (similar to current conditions)
• All entrances to Adirondack Trust, Stewart’s and Rite-Aid are planned to remain open during this phase. This is subject to change based on traffic conditions and public safety.
Example Movements for Motorists:
Motorists traveling on Round Lake Road: Eastbound lanes will close at the Rite-Aid Driveway. The Chango Drive intersection will remain open. The Hannaford Plaza entrances to Chango Drive and Round Lake Road will remain open. Detour signs and electronic message boards will be in place to direct eastbound motorists destined for I-87 to Eastline Road/Longkill Road.
Motorists traveling from Ruhle Road to Round Lake Road: No left turns will be permitted. To travel east on Round Lake Road, motorists will need to first travel west, and follow detour signs to I-87.
Motorists traveling from Round Lake Road to Ruhle Road: Access to Ruhle Road from Round Lake Road will only be available to westbound traffic (originating from I-87, Village of Round Lake, etc.). Right turns onto Ruhle Road will be permitted at the intersection. From the west, motorists will follow detour signs to Eastline Road, then Miller Road to access Ruhle Road.
Starting at 8:00 PM on October 2nd, the entire Round Lake Road/Ruhle Road intersection will be closed for that weekend to complete the roundabout. The roads will reopen to traffic Monday morning. We will distribute additional information regarding the full closure in advance.
