SLPID is the Governing body that supervises, manages and controls Saratoga Lake and the surrounding lands for a public benefit. They monitor lake health regarding pollution, eutrophication, invasive species, and more. Visit their website here.
If you spend time in the rivers and lakes of Malta, you can easily become a volunteer monitor for unusual looking/smelling water and invasive species. To learn more about NYS’s invasive species and what to lookout for, visit the NY Invasive Species Clearinghouse. If you see something that looks like possible water pollution or an invasive species, please call the Town Stormwater Management Officer at 518-899-2685.
