Darren S. O'Connor
Darren O’Connor is one of five children of actress Lenka Peterson (O’Connor) and newsman Daniel O’Connor. He grew up in Westchester County, and took up acting while moving through New Rochelle High School, Fordham University, and Fordham Law School.
After obtaining his law degree in 1980, Darren’s law practice included handling appeals for the New York City Legal Aid Society, clerking for Judge Judith S. Kaye upon her appointment to the New York Court of Appeals in 1983, and handling litigation matters in the law firm of Debevoise and Plimpton. Subsequently, while an Assistant Attorney General for the New York State Department of Law, he moved to the Albany area, and after many years representing the state and its employees, began working with the New York State Police, becoming Chief Counsel. He retired from state service at the end of 2011 and joined the Albany law firm of Allen and Desnoyers on a part time basis. His service to the Town of Malta has included the positions of Deputy Supervisor and Deputy Town Attorney. He was appointed as Supervisor upon the retirement of Vince DeLucia and was elected in November 2019.
In 1982, Darren married Eileen Clavin, then a single mom with three young children. Now, after more than 35 years, Eileen and Darren have four children, and eleven grandchildren. They moved to Malta several years ago and now live in the southern part of Malta. Eileen is a professor at Empire State College.
